Nick and Priyanka Chopra filed a lawsuit in May 2023, alleging that their $20 million California mansion was virtually uninhabitable due to a leak that allowed mold to spread.
Legal documents show that the celebrity couple began experiencing problems at their luxury home in April 2020 after a series of problems began occurring at their pool and spa. Page 6. The couple cited concerns that “porous waterproofing” would “enhance mold contamination and related problems.” The document goes on to say, “This has resulted in substantial and material harm, as well as a failure to consider, which necessitates rescission of the sale.”

Chopra and Jonas are also seeking “consequential damages” through the trustee.
The complaint alleges that after the initial problem was discovered, “a water leak occurred in the barbecue area on the deck.” They claimed that “this leak caused damage to a portion of the indoor living area directly below the deck.” The famous duo claimed that as a result of these issues, the house had become “virtually uninhabitable,” noting that it was “unsafe to occupy from a health standpoint,” Page Six reported. According to the report, attorney Fred Fenster, who is representing the trustees, issued a statement saying there would be delays in this legal matter as a result of various stages of litigation.
“The trustee filed a lawsuit against the builder, then the builder filed a cross-complaint against the subcontractor, and the subcontractor filed a lawsuit against the employee,” he told Page Six.
“It's like anyone who put a pick or shovel on the property is implicated, and it's up to the builder to determine and prove who was responsible for the defect,” he said. (Related article: 'Stop It': Nick Jonas gets serious after fans keep throwing things at him during concert)
