Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall on Friday filed an amicus brief with the U.S. Supreme Court upholding Tennessee and Kentucky laws that protect children from experimental gender transition treatments.
In his brief, Mr. Marshall specifically challenged the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH). WPATH pretends to be a legitimate clinical organization while advocating for allowing minors to change their gender.
“WPATH is not a model of disinterested science,” Marshall wrote. “Rather, its 'standard of care' for children with gender dysphoria relies on limited evidence-based research and the suppression of dissenting voices.” This stance remains unchanged in the face of the movement.”

“We urge the courts to uphold these laws and allow for full discovery to uncover the truth about WPATH’s radical and unproven scheme.”
This brief highlights reports and public statements from WPATH that call into question its right to exist as an organization.
One example is WPATH's Standards of Care chapter on eunuchs, which recommends “castrating the eunuch's body to better align it with gender identity.” The scientific information, developed from “a large online peer support community known as the 'Eunuch Archive,'” also includes a fictional section of thousands of stories “involving sadistic sexual abuse of children.” .
Marshall also cited the organization's tradition of scientific skepticism and aversion to alternative views. As a result of this aversion, research by experts such as Dr. Ken Zucker is ignored due to concerns that “gender reassignment will solidify children's gender dysphoria and otherwise resolve it.” He claims that he did.
In January, the 11th Circuit ruled that Alabama's Vulnerable Children Compassion and Protection Act (Alabama's version of the Kentucky and Tennessee laws) will move the state toward a full trial in August 2024. ) paved the way for enforcement.
