Texas paid more than $124 million to bus migrants to sanctuary cities, records reveal, according to KXAN.

The paper said there were a total of 2,245 bus trips, with 45 migrants per bus. Migrants were sent to Washington, D.C., New York City, Chicago, Philadelphia, Denver and Los Angeles, according to documents obtained by the outlet through a Freedom of Information request to the Texas Emergency Management Agency.

Most of the payments were made to Wynne Transportation LLC, and many of the other payments were made to Transportation Management Services Inc., according to the documents.

Approximately 99.6% of the cost of the bus project was covered by taxpayer funds. The money was earmarked by the Texas Legislature for Texas Governor Greg Abbott's Operation Lone Star, the paper said. Mr. Abbott has also raised $460,196 through a donation portal as of December 2023 to help cover his costs. according to Go to the governor's office.
