On Monday, Forest PAC, the political arm of the Alabama Forestry Association, announced its support for the Alabama Supreme Court Chief Justice race.
Representing Alabama's forestry community, including manufacturers, landowners, loggers and industry, this group has significant influence in Montgomery and across the state. ForestPac has announced its support for Brian Taylor, while other groups have refrained from supporting the Chief Justice race in particular.
“I have known Brian for nearly 20 years and know that he is well-versed in the issues affecting forest owners and forest products manufacturers,” said AFA President and CEO. ) said Chris Isaacson.

Mr. Taylor is a former Alabama State Senator and Chief Counsel to Governor Ivey, and is currently in private practice, focusing on constitutional law and appellate law, election law, business litigation, and public policy.he He served 21 years in the U.S. Army as a military prosecutor, Iraq War veteran, and Army judge trial attorney.
“We are honored to receive recognition from the Alabama Forestry Association,” Taylor said.
“Like me, they strongly support the conservative values that have always made America great: values such as freedom, limited government, fiscal responsibility, and private property rights. They also share the belief that judges should follow written laws rather than legislating in court. In a post thanking the influential group, Taylor called the support a “litmus test” for a true conservative.

Mr. Taylor will face Supreme Court Associate Justice Sarah Stewart in the March 5, 2024, Republican primary election to determine who will succeed Chief Justice Tom Parker as chief justice.
