YUMA, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – The Yuma County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) was called to the scene Tuesday morning in response to a fatal crash that left one person dead.
According to YCSO, the accident occurred around 5:46 a.m. in the area of Highway 95, Avenue 6E and Araby Road.
According to YCSO, a red Chevrolet Equinox was traveling eastbound on Highway 95 when the victim was walking near the roadway when the Equinox entered the road the Equinox was traveling on, killing the victim. It is said that he did.
Once YCSO arrived on scene, they closed off the road and forced motorists to take an alternate route. The road reopened around 11 a.m.
YCSO said the victim has not been identified at this time, pending notification of next of kin.
