Sylvester Stallone made waves on Sunday's The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon by congratulating Ryan Gosling on potentially donning the combat boots of the iconic character Rambo.
Stallone, who played the rugged U.S. Army Special Forces veteran in five films from the 1980s to 2019, praised Gosling's affinity for the character. The actor also explained why he would like Gosling to play Rambo in a future revival of the action series.

“[Ryan] “I was fascinated by Rambo, and I went to school dressed as Rambo, and people chased me away, but I never stopped.” I would go on vacation as Rambo. “He kept saying he had a deep connection to Rambo,'' Stallone said. “And I thought, this is interesting. If I were ever to pass the baton, I would pass it on because he loves this character.”
With Stallone's backing, Gosling holds the green light to potentially embody the iconic action hero if he chooses to accept that mantle in the future.
