News • Regional Plan Committee to review chapters of Flagsta

The City of Flagstaff and Coconino County will invite residents to a Regional Planning Commission meeting as the Commission begins consideration of draft chapters of the 2045 Flagstaff Regional Plan. The first chapter considered will focus on natural resources, and the committee will discuss the next chapter. Wednesday, Feb. 21, 6 p.m., at the City of Flagstaff Public Works Building (3200 W Route 66).

Flagstaff Regional Plan 2045 provides high-level guidance for policy-making in the City of Flagstaff and surrounding areas of Coconino County over the next 10 years. The plan covers a wide range of topics, particularly as it relates to future land use and development decisions. Since 2021, city and county officials have hosted several public workshops, attended dozens of community meetings, worked with student groups, and sent out thousands of emails seeking public input on the plan. Ta. Feedback gathered through these efforts has shaped each chapter of the plan.

The public is encouraged to participate in this new stage of the planning process. This is your chance to see the draft regional plan and add your voice to the conversation. The Commission accepts written public comments prior to each meeting, but there are also limited opportunities for oral comments during the meeting. The chapter's review will culminate in his 60-day public review period of the entire plan, scheduled for fall 2024.

The Regional Planning Commission will meet once or twice a month until August 2024. All meetings will be held in person at the Public Works Building (3200 Route 66 W.) starting at 6 p.m. Attendees can also participate virtually. The virtual meeting link will be in the agenda for each meeting and will be posted on his website 5-7 days before each meeting.
