JP Echeverria is a senior at Williams High School (WHS). He has lived in Williams all his life.
JP has played many sports during his school days, including soccer, baseball, basketball, and golf, and says that his favorite sport is baseball.
“I like playing in the outfield and I like pitching,[because]my dad always said, “When you're in the outfield, you can think more than when you're in the infield, because there's not as much going on.'' “That's what I'm saying,” JP said.
His favorite class in school is Law Enforcement with Mr. Brownlee. He enjoys learning about the law and how investigations work, he said.
JP said one of his fondest memories from high school was going homecoming during his freshman year.
“It was great to be able to compete with my seniors,'' he said. “It was really fun every time we played against them.”
In his spare time, JP works at Elephant Rocks Golf Course. He has been working there for three years, both at the desk and in the field.
JP said he was grateful for all the support his family, as well as his teachers, gave him while attending school.
After graduating, JP plans to attend Arizona State University to study accounting and try out for the golf team.
