Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis claimed Thursday that she “did not receive” any gifts from Nathan Wade that she was required to disclose in 2022.
The Daily Caller News Foundation previously reported that Willis on a 2022 financial disclosure form provided information about Mr. Wade, including a plane ticket to Miami that the bank report revealed Mr. Wade had taken. The company did not disclose any payments made by the company. She explained in her testimony Thursday that Wade “never” gave her a gift worth more than $100.
“What is your understanding of prohibited sources for the purposes of this form?” asked Harry McDougald, a lawyer for co-defendant Jeffrey Clark. (Related: Exclusive: Fanni Willis fails to disclose airline ticket paid for by alleged lover, docu-show)
The form requires disclosure of gifts or favors over $100 from “prohibited sources,” such as persons “doing business with the county.”
Mr. Willis responded that the banned source was someone he had “no personal relationship with, but who offered him $100.”

“It's defined as someone you know or should know is trying to do or doing business with the county. Correct?” McDuldo asked. “This includes Mr. Wade on the day you filled out this form, right?” (Related article: 'Cash at home': Fanny Willis tries to explain payments to lover in glowing testimony)
“Yes, but he has never given me a gift of more than $100,” Willis said. “The only thing I would say that probably exceeded that is if I went to dinner and my meal was $100. But I don't think it really was. But $100 worth of food at a restaurant. I don't think I've ever had one, because I don't pay him back when I go to lunch or dinner. But I paid him for the trip.”
“I never thought about money until you mentioned it,” she said. “I didn't accept any gifts from him because there were a lot of personal reasons.”
