Deadline approaching to apply for absentee ballots



With the primary election next month, the state is reminding Alabama voters of the deadline to request absentee ballots.

County election officials must receive absentee ballot applications by mail by February 27th. The deadline to return absentee ballot applications in person is Feb. 29, Secretary of State Wes Allen said in a news release.

Absentee ballots returned in person must be received by county absentee election officials by the close of business on March 4, the day before the election. Absentee ballots returned by mail must be received no later than noon on March 5, the primary election day.
