One of the best catches you can catch as a fisherman is the great white shark. This legend accomplished just that.
Meet Gus Smith, the father from Blackpool, England, who became an overnight legend after catching a 560-pound great white shark. And it took Smith (and his three friends to help) to show the true size and strength of this big guy. 1 hour or more To catch this beast. (Related: Rare spearhead shark discovered in Australia)
Smith was on vacation in his native New Zealand, where he went on a fishing trip that lasted a total of seven days. His original plan was for him and his companions to catch shortfin mako sharks, which are commonly found on the outskirts of the Three Kings Islands.
But then the script flips and Smith ends up fighting a great white shark, and a giant one at that.
The moment a Brit reeled in a 560-pound great white shark, he needed three burly companions to carry him in the boat as he pulled the beast out of the depths.https://t.co/xrnwck9yJvhttps://t.co/xrnwck9yJv

Here's the rest of Smith's fishing trip.
It was an amazing trip organized by this guy. Not only did he catch a great white shark, he also reeled in a marlin.
Interestingly, if you look at this guy's Facebook, you'll see that he works out a lot. And it's a good thing he did. Fighting a great white shark or a mammoth-sized marlin definitely requires stamina. Holy hell.
This guy is elite, straight up elite.
