PIERCE: Democrats’ Migrant Crisis Is A Betrayal Of Black Americans

As a former Democrat who has witnessed the erosion of promises and abandonment of principles, I can no longer remain silent. The border crisis fueled by the Democratic Party's misguided policies is a blatant betrayal of Black Americans.

Democrats' relentless push for amnesty and benefits for illegal immigrants is a clear example of their misplaced priorities. Instead of prioritizing the well-being and concerns of the American people, especially those in the marginalized communities they claim to defend, they chose to: Institute policy It offers bounties to individuals who knowingly violate immigration laws.

The impact of illegal immigration extends beyond mere numbers. They directly impact the lives and livelihoods of Black Americans. Scarce resources are deflected It fails to address the needs of Black and low-income communities, exacerbating existing challenges such as homelessness and unemployment. In cities like Chicago and New York, where Black residents make up a significant portion of the homeless population, funds that could be allocated to addressing these pressing issues are instead being diverted to housing, feeding, and services for undocumented immigrants. is being directed towards providing. Even recreation centers and schools serving black communities are being used as detention centers for immigrants.

Immigration crime is also a real problem. An immigrant who recently assaulted a police officer in Times Square was released without bail. meanwhile, Law-abiding citizens are often required to post bail, even for minor crimes. Americans must pay for immigrants' services while remaining vulnerable to immigrant crime.

In reality, Democrats have done little for minority communities other than divert attention from their problems. For example, consider the statements made by Rachel Levine, the U.S. assistant secretary for health. recent claims Climate change is impacting Black communities at higher rates than other racial groups. The idea that climate change is on the minds of black voters is completely disconnected from the reality of their concerns. In my experience, conversations within the Black community rarely, if ever, revolve around climate change as a pressing issue.

But instead of addressing the challenges facing Black and minority communities, including economic opportunity, cost of living, and increased violence, Democrats have used racial issues as a distraction to avoid accountability. This tactic of using Black Americans as political pawns is causing great harm to our communities. For too long, Democrats have taken our votes for granted.

But the tide seems to be changing, and rightly so.Several poll President Joe Biden's approval ratings among black Americans have been declining. Democrats are losing support among black men, black voters in rural areas, and black voters without college degrees — people who often work in low-wage jobs and are most affected economically by mass immigration.

This shift in support among black Americans highlights a growing sense in the community that the Democratic Party recognizes that their support is dwindling. Why else would they advocate for mass amnesty and allowing noncitizens to vote in local elections in cities like New York and Boston? The hypocrisy of the open border policy cannot be overlooked. Democrats claim to champion the rights of marginalized communities, but their actions tell a different story. Black Americans, who have historically supported the Democratic Party, are waking up to the harsh reality that their needs and concerns are being sidelined in favor of illegal immigration.

Responsibility for the ongoing border crisis and its negative impact on Black communities rests squarely on President Biden's shoulders. His actions effectively sold out the black community, ignoring their interests in favor of political expediency. We must recognize the real and tangible harm this has caused and take action to address it.

The time for reckoning has come. Democrats must take responsibility for their failed immigration policies that directly betrayed the trust and interests of Black Americans. We cannot continue to ignore the plight of Black communities while prioritizing the needs of undocumented immigrants. Black Americans, who have made significant contributions to the nation's development and bravely defended it during times of conflict, deserve more than to be ignored in favor of illegal immigration.
