A prominent Boston, Massachusetts, performance art company is collaborating with high school students from across Selma to create new performance pieces that explore Selma's civil rights heritage, current struggles, and dreams of recovery.
Selma Again This is the production of the world heardis a racially diverse collection of performing artists, filmmakers, and educators committed to using the arts to combat racism and advance social justice.of Selma Again Performances will include spoken word artists, rappers, street dancers, and a variety of musicians accompanied by the Elwood Community Church Praise Team. Each act aims to highlight the unsung high school heroes of the 1960s Selma movement and raise awareness about new efforts to support teens and families living in Selma today.

This summer, participating Selma High School students will once again perform with Massachusetts' Behind World artists for additional performances. In Boston, the Selma teens will be visiting with friends from the Franklin Field housing development in Dorchester. The collaboration with Selma is part of a new nonprofit initiative. Selma Intercultural Nonviolence & Performing Arts Academy, was founded by Dallas County natives, Selma movement organizers, and Bloody Sunday infantrymen Charles Bonner and Viola Douglas. Pastor Gary Crum of Elwood Church of Christ. and Anna Meyer and Jay Paris, co-directors of behind.world. It is dedicated to promoting nonviolence and promoting peace and healing through the performing arts and filmmaking.

Additionally, portions of Selma Again rehearsals may be open to the media for photo and B-roll opportunities.
