The Alabama Crimson Tide got another big win Wednesday night, defeating the Florida Gators 98-93 in an epic overtime game.
Struggling from beyond the arc, the Tide had to find new ways to get it done, especially in the first half and not getting a 3-point game for most of the night. Alabama made just 2 of 18 shots (11.1%) in the first half, but was fortunate to only trail 41-37 at the half.
Poor shooting meant Alabama didn't even attempt a 3 in the first eight minutes of the second half, which was highly unusual for coach Nate Oats' team.
But in the final 11 minutes or so of the game, the three-balls finally started falling, with Alabama making 8 of 32 (25%).
Alabama fell behind by double digits at one point in the second half, but was able to rally back and take the game into overtime, where they were eventually able to pull away after a back-and-forth overtime period.

“You can look back at the times when we didn't shoot well. To be honest, we didn't play well in a lot of areas, but we still found a way to win against good teams. In this league. They were the hottest team of any team in the country. You have an offense that ranks No. 9 in the country. Shoot, we didn't do a great job on defense. We probably ranked them the No. 9 offense in the country. We looked even better than Jin and we were still figuring out how to win,” said Nate Oats after the win.
Alabama is in first place in the SEC and leads all games, going 11-2 with five games remaining. The Tide will have a big road test on Saturday before heading to Lexington for a game against Kentucky at 3pm CST on CBS.
