SAN LUIS, Ariz. (KYMA, KECY) – A local university has received funding to help advance women's empowerment through a series of workshops.
Arizona Western College (AWC) is hosting a series of workshops focused on leadership with the help of a $20,000 grant.
“We encourage men and women to participate, and we welcome community members to participate as well. This is an opportunity to further education on women's empowerment. To empower more women. We need to empower men as well,” said Maria Guzmán, AWC advisor. Student Services Coordinator.
The Student Services Coordinator said the workshops will be held once a month for the remainder of the academic year and efforts will be made to hold them again next semester.
The first workshop will be on Monday, February 26th.
The next workshop dates are February 26th, March 25th, April 29th, and May 13th from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm at the San Luis Plaza, 1340 N. 8th Avenue. It will be held in Room 104 of the Learning Center.
