Lionsgate producer Debmar Mercury has launched an investigation into the death of “Shelly” executive Matt Azle, who was found dead on February 13th.
The talk show executive was found dead of an apparent suicide at his home in Piermont, New York. The official cause of death has not been disclosed. Azul controlled the show's budget and was at the center of a financial investigation at the time of his death, according to the outlet. deadline.

According to Deadline, Azle's death caused a stir on Sherri Shepherd's daytime talk show, after which people close to the situation came forward and confirmed that Azle was the subject of a financial investigation. No further information was provided about how long the investigation had been underway or the extent of Azul's involvement in the financial matters at issue.
No information was provided about any personnel issues he may have been experiencing in the days before his death.

“Debmar Mercury has retained Morgan Lewis to assist in an investigation into this matter and will not be commenting further pending the outcome of that investigation,” a spokesperson told Deadline. said in a statement. According to Deadline, the show's production team is continuing to produce and air “Shelly” despite Azul's death, and the show has reportedly not been suspended as a result of the tragedy.
On February 15th, the daytime talk show paid tribute to Uzzle by issuing a memorial tribute card.
The show is in its second season and begins at Chelsea Studios in New York.
