Lionsgate producer Debmar Mercury has launched an investigation into the death of “Shelly” executive Matt Azle, who was found dead on February 13th.
The talk show executive was found dead of an apparent suicide at his home in Piermont, New York. The official cause of death has not been disclosed. Azul controlled the show's budget and was at the center of a financial investigation at the time of his death, according to the outlet. deadline.

According to Deadline, Azle's death caused a stir on Sherri Shepherd's daytime talk show, after which people close to the situation came forward and confirmed that Azle was the subject of a financial investigation. According to Deadline, the show's production team is continuing to produce and air “Shelly” despite Azul's death, and the show has reportedly not been suspended as a result of the tragedy.

The show is in its second season and begins at Chelsea Studios in New York.
