Hundreds of migrants were dropped off at the side of the road in San Diego, California, after reception centers ran out of funding on Friday, according to the Associated Press.
Border Patrol buses are dropping off hundreds of migrants from China, Kazakhstan, Ecuador, Rwanda, among others, at bus stops in San Diego rather than at county-funded reception centers, which closed Thursday due to lack of funds, according to the Associated Press. Ta. report. The reception center is run by local nonprofit SBCS, formerly known as South Bay Community Services, and San Diego County provides migrants with services such as food, phone charging stations and travel advice. He donated $6 million to the cause.

The city arrested an average of 800 people a day in January for illegal border crossings, including an average of more than 100 Chinese migrants a day, according to the Associated Press.
SBCS has served 81,000 immigrants in the county since Oct. 11, the group said, according to the Associated Press. The SBCS reception center is currently closed, and the Border Patrol said it expects about 350 migrants to be released onto the streets on Friday.

Nora Vargas, chairwoman of the San Diego County Board of Supervisors, defended the performance of the immigrant reception center, which was supposed to remain open until March.
“Nobody's perfect, especially when you're trying to bridge the gap with the federal government,” Vargas said. She recently petitioned the Biden administration to extend her support, according to the Associated Press.
Vargas is not the only official calling for more federal aid as big cities struggle to cope with the influx of migrants. The mayors of New York City and Chicago have asked the Biden administration for resources to help address the immigration crisis.
The San Diego Mayor's Office and SBCS did not immediately respond to requests for comment from the Daily Caller News Foundation.
