Taylor Swift’s Dad Allegedly Assaulted Photographer In Australia

Scott Swift, the father of global pop icon Taylor Swift, is facing charges of assaulting a photographer in Australia, news.com.au reported on Monday.

The incident occurred at Sydney's Neutral Bay Pier in the early hours of Tuesday morning local time. according to Go to news.com.au. Photographer Ben McDonald claims Scott assaulted him. The collision occurred as Taylor was taking photos on Sydney Harbour, after his last concert in the city. The encounter left him with minor injuries and a bruised pride.

A NSW Police spokesperson said: “Police believe a 71-year-old man was arrested at Neutral Bay Wharf at around 2.30am before leaving the area.'' MacDonald followed Taylor and her father as they walked around town. The situation changed when a security guard blocked his view with an umbrella. According to news.com.au, Ms MacDonald said: “As she approached the security guard shoved an umbrella in my face and the camera, then as she got into the car her father decided to lunge at me and give me a chop. '' he claimed.

“At first I didn't know it was her father,” he continued. “When I looked back at the photo, I saw him holding hands with Taylor, and it became clear that that was her father.”

News.com.au reports that authorities said McDonald did not seek medical attention despite the argument.
