On Sunday afternoon (2/25), Mohave County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue conducted an afternoon training session with a K9 team in Lake Havasu City. Teams from Lake Havasu City, Bullhead City, and Kingman met to participate in group training in areas such as tracking/tracing, regional/wilderness air scent, and body detection. A team of 9 search dogs participated in the training! These search dog teams continue to train to pass the most rigorous and difficult national standards as part of the Arizona Search and Rescue Coordinator Association (ASARCA) Certification Program. As the team continues to train and improve their skill set, they will be a valuable resource for our search and rescue missions. These teams are active members of our SAR force (organized geographically in the Arizona Strip, Bullhead City, Kingman, and Lake Havasu City) and utilize their search and rescue experience and training to , making you a more capable asset to your team. We look forward to having additional dog teams certified. Here are some photos from yesterday!
