Yuma – The City of Yuma has announced that neighborhood cleanups have resumed. This event will begin on his January 30th, 2023, clearing the streets of large unwanted items.
In addition to regular solid waste collection, the City of Yuma Public Works crews make weekly rounds of Yuma City neighborhoods to pick up bulky items such as broken furniture, appliances, tree trimmings, and bagged lawn clippings. to collect
The annual program runs from late January through March. In each of the 10 areas designated for pickup, he has one week to curbside pickup of these bulk household items. The first is the area from Colorado Street to the West Main Canal and from Avenue A to the west side of the city.
If pickup has not taken place after the specified week for your area, please leave the materials on the curb. The Yuma City Neighborhood Cleanup Program is for residents within the Yuma City limits only. No extra charge.
Materials that fall under household hazardous waste such as old chemicals, paints, pesticides, fertilizers, batteries, and electronic waste will be held on the second Friday of each month and scheduled.

Examples of acceptable items:
- Old furniture, mattresses, carpets and appliances. Grass clippings in bags; branches of trees not exceeding 4 feet in length, knotted and bundled, and weighing not more than 50 pounds. 5 rimless tires per settlement (do not use commercial or farm tires).
Examples of items that cannot be checked:
- roofing and building materials; tree stumps; concrete or dirt; household hazardous waste such as motor oil, pesticides and other chemicals. tires with rims; abandoned or commercial vehicles or farm equipment; Materials from commercial enterprises.
Observe the following rules:
- Place all items on the curb for collection at the beginning of the specified week in your neighborhood.
- Do not block or place objects near trash cans or water meters.
- Loose items must be bagged, boxed or tied and must be easily handled by two people (no more than 50 pounds).
- Place appliances, tires, bound limbs, and other items in separate piles for easy handling. Each of these mountains is handled by a separate crew.
- Don’t put things in the alley. The only exception is homes facing Avenue A.
- Keep anything you don’t want removed well away from curbs and right-of-way around your home.
