An office space in the city of Bullhead considered by U.S. Congressman Paul Gosser last month will go unused after lawmakers reportedly decided not to pursue a lease with Mojave County.
“We have reached out to Rep. Gother and have been informed that the Rep. is no longer pursuing this lease,” Mojave County Manager Sam Elters said at a meeting of the Mojave County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday. “They have withdrawn it from Congressional consideration, and we believe it is moot.”
This office space was offered last year in District 2 of Mojave County. This was because the Congressman was looking for a place to serve the needs of Mojave County veterans and other constituents. Located in the Mojave County Government Complex in Bullhead, the space was initially offered to Gosar for a $375 monthly lease that included high-speed internet, phone service and cleaning services provided by the county. The electricity bill for that location is $11.53 per month. “
A decision on whether to offer that lease was filed in December after county attorneys indicated that without a bid for the space, it could only be offered to government agencies, not individuals. Earlier this month, it attempted to re-draft the lease agreement so that it would be submitted through the 118th Congress for the 9th District of Arizona’s House of Representatives.
The lease was scheduled to be subject to possible approval at Tuesday’s meeting of the Mojave County Board of Supervisors. The board took no action on the matter.
