scheduled to open January 12thnew home depot It is in 1400 West Hunt Highwayhas become one of the most anticipated retail buildings for Santan Valley residents. Some locals are excited to spend their money nearby instead of driving to other communities .
Longtime retail manager George Page has been with the company for over 33 years. He worked at popular clothing chain Miller’s Outpost in the late ’80s before joining Home Depot at age 21.
Paige, now 55, was the operations manager of the Mesa Home Depot store until 2003 when she was offered the position of store manager for Power and German’s store in Queen Creek. Store in Santa? ’” he recalls.
The Santan Store land was actually purchased in 2006. The parking lot was paved, but Paige said, “We hit it in 2008 and it all came to a halt, so we couldn’t continue construction.” “So fast forward to 2022 and I’m the guy they asked to open a Santan shop. It’s so ironic.”

One factor in the success of local retailers is the attitude of their representatives. We asked Paige what she hopes to bring to this new store beyond the company’s core values.
“You know, I’m kind of a joker and I like to have a good time,” he says. “I’m very passionate. Of course, I’ve been his associate for over 30 years, so I feel that Home He has the core values of the Depot.”
“Customer service is where we want to set the bar very high for the Santan area because that’s what separates us,” Page says. “A lot of people sell hammers, but it’s people’s fault that goes to Home Depot. No one else has the manpower that we have. New people don’t know me and others.” You will soon learn the culture from a very hard working fellow.”
His new employees are mostly locals. During the application process, he asked how far he was from the new store, and on average he said between 1 and 5 miles. “So from the store he lives a mile away, mainly from Queen He Creek. Did.”
As it is a new store of Home Depot, you can expect enhancements that reflect the times. According to the page, this store has definitely been upgraded. Everything from an area four times his size for picking up online orders to a huge new electronics department called Megatron. For landscapers, Santan’s shop is like a gardening paradise.

“Our outdoor garden area has about 30,000 square feet of space,” says Page. “The front footprint is also about five times larger than a typical store if you drive up. I will prepare the space.”
He adds that getting propane will also be much easier. There are nine automatic propane cages in the front of the building.
As for the excitement of the new store, Paige understands why this is a big deal for Growing Valley. As a child, he grew up in Gilbert, population about 3,000. That number has grown to about 270,000. “I think it’s the fact that you don’t have to drive 20 miles round trip to get to the next closest Home Depot, and the fact that, you know, the roads aren’t that good. Some of those traffic lights, you I know it took me an hour and a half to get a gallon of paint and I’m just across the street.”
With all that convenience, what about professional and do-it-yourself customers? Will contractors swoop in and run out of inventory, leaving regular customers out of supplies? Both have the same product mix, according to the page. That said, he stresses that professional customers will have a great experience.
“The entire north side of the building is for contractors. Get out and get what you need to complete your home.”

“There are also several $99 Milwaukee drill sets,” adds Page. “So we load some things up. There are some tool chests that are being assembled. Drive up 12th Street and you’ll see grills, patio sets, tools, wheelbarrows and trees on display.
When Paige isn’t going full throttle at Home Depot, he loves to pull off his signature orange and white apron and spend time with his family, watching movies, and working on old muscle cars. from high school. “

The new Home Depot in San Tan Valley is the type of retail store our growing community needs. It is a convenient tax revenue source that stays local. Paige knows that all too well, but she also wants her store to do something more special.
“We look forward to giving back to the community,” he says. “We want to work with local schools and veterans who live in the area to see if there is anything we can do. provide the best service to you.”
