Gary Palmer: ‘The protests plaguing our college campuses are not only antisemitic, but anti-American’

Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) on Monday slammed anti-Israel protests on college campuses, calling them “anti-Semitic” and “anti-American.”

Palmer responded to the demonstration: Solution To condemn the protests and those who fund them.

“The protests plaguing our college campuses are not only anti-Semitic, they are also anti-American,” Palmer said. “My resolution not only condemns the protests, but also their funders. All politicians and political parties should refuse donations from organizations and groups that fund these racist and anti-American demonstrations.”

The resolution specifically states, “We condemn the anarchy and riots occurring on college campuses and the groups that are organizing them; we condemn George Soros and all those who fund the groups behind these protests; we call on all politicians and parties of all ideological stripes to not accept donations for any purpose from organizations and groups that fund anti-American and anti-Semitic demonstrations; and we call for a thorough investigation of all foreign adversaries who are inciting and provoking unrest on campuses and in the public.”

This is not the first time the lawmaker has criticised those funding protests.

“There's a vast left-wing conspiracy,” Palmer argued last month. “The same foundations and families behind them that fund NPR also fund protests. They pay people who train college students to protest. They fund Democratic candidates and provide dark money to Democratic operatives.”

The resolution was introduced by Reps. Burgess Owens (Utah 4th District), Chuck Edwards (North Carolina 11th District), Doug Lamborn (Colorado 5th District), Andy Ogles (Tennessee 5th District), Pete Sessions (Texas 17th District), Jim Baird (Indiana 4th District), Clay Higgins (Louisiana 3rd District), and Rudy Yakim (Indiana 2nd District). The bill is co-sponsored by Reps. Michael Guest (Mississippi 3rd District), Debbie Lesko (Arizona 8th District), Chuck Fleischmann (Tennessee 3rd District), Claudia Tenney (New York 24th District), David Reuther (North Carolina 7th District), Dan Meuser (Pennsylvania 9th District), and Byron Donald (Florida 19th District).
