Arcadia Fire burns 121 acres near Dudleyville; 70% contained

Dudleyville, AZ (AZFamily) — Firefighters are working to contain a fast-growing wildfire that broke out in Pinal County Friday afternoon.

The Arcadia Fire was first reported around 4 p.m. about five miles south of Dudleyville in Pinal County.

The fire has burned about 121 acres and was 70% contained as of Saturday afternoon, according to the Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management. About 85 firefighters are battling the blaze. Firefighters continue to clear the perimeter and interior of the fire. There is no threat to containment lines.

The Pinal County Sheriff's Office issued an evacuation order for residents south of Alvaipa Road and west of Trent Road around 6:30 p.m. Friday, but it was quickly lifted.

The fire also forced the closure of parts of the highway in the area. State Route 77 was closed for about an hour. Lower San Pedro State Wildlife Refugeis located about 10 miles south of Dudleyville. It reopened Friday just before 6:30 p.m.

About 80 firefighters are battling the blaze from the air and ground. The cause of the blaze is unknown.

Dudleyville is about 60 miles north of Tucson.
