Those worried about Cullen DeBoer's success in recruiting in the SEC have had a tough offseason so far, as the Crimson Tide's 2025 freshman class has risen to No. 1 in the SEC and No. 3 nationally since DeBoer took over as head coach in Tuscaloosa.

This week, Alabama's new head coach strengthened the offensive line in the trenches with the addition of two big names.

Four-star recruit Michael Carroll, a 6-foot-6, 315-pound interior lineman, committed to the Crimson Tide after his official visit last weekend. The Doylestown, Pennsylvania, native chose Alabama over Penn State and other schools.

On Wednesday, DeBoer and his staff landed a second offensive lineman, this time in-state prospect Mal Waldrep. The three-star lineman from Central Phenix City chose Alabama over Clemson, Florida and Tennessee. He is 6-foot-5 and weighs 325 pounds.

The Alabama-Central Phenix City connection has grown stronger in recent years, with two of Waldrep's high school teammates, Red Morgan and Isaiah Faga, entering their second seasons in Tuscaloosa.

Waldrep is a Crimson Tide legend whose father, also named Mal, played for Mike DuBose and Dennis Franchione from 1998-2002.

The additions of Carroll and Waldrep represent two more big gains for the Tide as the DeBoer era continues.
