Alabama secures commitment from elite in-state offensive tackle during huge weekend for recruitment

The Alabama Crimson Tide have secured the signing of one of the state's best offensive linemen after a big visit weekend in Tuscaloosa.

Vigor (Mobile, Ala.) offensive tackle Micah DeBose has committed to play for the Tide.

DeBose had previously committed to the University of Georgia, but backed out around Christmas and received strong offers from Auburn and Alabama, as well as Louisiana State and Ohio State.

DeBose is a big-bodied prospect at 6-foot-5 and weighing about 320 pounds. He has the ability to play tackle or guard at the next level after graduating in the 2025 class.

He is the fourth offensive lineman to commit to Alabama in the past two weeks, joining Michael Carroll, Mal Waldrep and Jackson Lloyd.

DuBose's pledge capped a huge recruiting weekend for Alabama, which also landed a number of five-star recruits, including University of California cornerback Dijon Lee, University of Texas offensive tackle Ty Haywood and University of Mississippi wide receiver Caleb Cunningham.

The Class of 2025 still has a long way to go, but DeBoer has helped propel Alabama into the top three in the country, so it may be far from over.

The question of whether Cullen DeBoer can recruit players in the South appears to have a resounding “yes.”
