A salsa-style showdown is taking place in Birmingham this weekend.
The annual Salsa Showdown takes place on Saturday and is hosted by Birmingham's Sidewalk Film Center + Cinema. Now in its 13th year, the competition showcases the city's best salsas, guacamole, queso, specialty dips and more.
The showdown will take place Saturday from 2-6 p.m. at Cahaba Brewing Co. Salsa samples will be available to attendees and they will have the opportunity to vote for the event's “Audience Award.”
“This event is a fun way to showcase the best food from across Birmingham while also raising funds for Sidewalk's year-round educational programming,” said Chloe Cook, executive director of Sidewalk Film Center + Cinema. “We're excited about this year's participants and look forward to watching them decide who serves up the best dips in the Magic City.”
