Deadly shooting in Birmingham Two people died One person sustained non-life-threatening injuries Friday afternoon after what appeared to be an attempted robbery in the South Birmingham neighborhood, according to AL.com.
Officer Truman Fitzgerald of the Birmingham Police Department issued the plea to violent criminals after a week of multiple deadly shootings in the city that are believed to have been planned and targeted crimes.
“I can't emphasize enough how important people, places and actions are contributing factors to the violence we see in our city,” Fitzgerald said this summer as daylight crimes have become increasingly prevalent. “This comes from a place of love…. Young people, we live in Alabama where everyone has a gun. Before you think you can pounce on someone, please think of others who you think may be victims. It's not always going to be the case.”
“Two guys in ski masks in 90-degree weather,” Fitzgerald said.
“Tell us what you think they were trying to do, and that's what we're dealing with.”
