‘USA’ chants drown out pro-Palestinian protesters at the University of Alabama



“A protest by groups with opposing views took place on campus today. The University appreciates that participants peacefully exercised their free speech without disruption, violence, vandalism or arrests. University officials and UAPD were on scene and shared expectations for a responsible, peaceful event and clear guidelines that align with the law and University policy. All protests must follow applicable University policies to ensure the safety and security of campus and maintain orderly operation. The University reserves the authority to address violations swiftly. Students and groups who raised concerns have been provided with enhanced security and other resources, and those resources remain available.”

As the situation continues escalate Nationwide, freedom of political expression appears to be upheld at the University of Alabama, where students are peacefully exercising their rights.

On Wednesday, U.S. Sen. Katie Britt, a University of Alabama graduate, said in a statement that she has never been prouder to say “Roll Tide.”
