Huntsville could become home to a new football team



Rocket City may soon have a new football team.

The International Football Federation, which has teams in both Mexico and the United States, plans to invite the Alabama Beavers to Huntsville, the team announced via social media.

The league, which isn't scheduled to start until 2025, will reportedly feature teams in Las Vegas, Tampa Bay, Dallas, Chihuahua, Cancun, Guadalajara and Portland.

The IFA describes its mission as follows:“We are bridging the gap in international professional football by offering the highest level of American football within Mexico and the United States.”

No information was shared beyond social media posts from the team. Huntsville News 19 The team has yet to receive confirmation from the city about its plans.

It seems there are still more steps that need to be taken, but for now it looks like the Yellow Hammer State will soon have a new professional football team to root for.
