The Birmingham Police Department continues to fight illegal racing and exhibition driving on the city's streets.

Six men were detained on various charges as part of Operation Night Rider between May 31 and June 1, and over the weekend. The road policing operation, which began on April 12, is aimed at curbing illegal exhibition driving and street racing in the city.

Those arrested were:

  • Quentavius Barkley, 29, of Childersburg, was charged with first-degree receiving stolen property, fleeing/attempting to elude and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana.
