Doctors Without Borders Member Turned Out To Be Terror Mastermind, IDF Says

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) killed Fadi al-Wadiya, a member of the humanitarian group Doctors Without Borders, on Tuesday for suspected terrorist ties, Israel said.

The Israel Defense Forces said Al-Wadiya was an Islamic Jihad terrorist and had “advanced the terrorist organization's rocket positions” and put civilian lives at risk. (Related: On October 7, victims filed a multi-billion dollar lawsuit against UN agency, accusing it of supporting terrorism.)

Avichai Adlai, an Arab spokesman for the Israel Defense Forces, tweeted three photos of what appeared to be al-Wadiya in an Islamic Jihad uniform. The Gaza native “was considered an expert within the organization in the fields of electronics and chemistry.” The same year he joined Doctors Without Borders, he tried to travel to Iran with two other fighters for terrorism-related training, Adlai tweeted.

“Physiotherapist by day, Jihad saboteur by night,” Adrae quipped in a tweet about the deceased.

Doctors Without Borders said his colleague was killed “while cycling to work.” The 33-year-old Gazan joined the group in 2018, and his death marks “the sixth MSF staff killed in the Gaza Strip since 7 October 2023,” the humanitarian group said.

Doctors Without Borders added that his death was “another example of the senseless killing of Palestinian civilians and medical workers in the Gaza Strip.”

Doctors Without Borders was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1999 for its “pioneering humanitarian work on several continents”. Nobel Prize website read.
