Watch Roll Tide Willie get the team fired up at Alabama’s spring practice

The Alabama Crimson Tide are in the midst of a new era under head coach Cullen DeBoer and spring practice at the same time.

One of the new things the Tide have experienced under Coach DeBoer is the change in practice format, from playing music to having freshmen at practice and now being allowed to bring in special guests.

Roll Tide Willie is an icon among Alabama fans, famous over the years for his beer review videos and catchphrases like “nothing but the Tide” and “Blitz Bama Blitz!”

Willie has had the opportunity to attend many Alabama sporting events, including basketball games and recruiting for Ryan Williams, but now he has the opportunity to attend spring practice, talk to the team and even provide play-by-play commentary.

While addressing the team after practice, he led the group in chants of “I don't care” and “Blitz Bama Blitz,” but Willie's highlight may have been when new defensive coordinator Kane Womack asked him what play he wanted to run.

To the surprise of no one, Willie yelled “Blitz Bama Blitz” with all the passion he could muster, and Womack followed suit and made the call on the play.
