Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin stopped to pay tribute to Fox and revealed that “Back to the Future” was what inspired him to form the band, the Daily Mail reported. “The main reason we formed a band was because we saw Back to the Future, so we'd like to thank our eternal hero and one of the most amazing people on the planet, Michael J. Fox. Thank you so much, Michael,” Martin told the Daily Mail.

According to the Daily Mail, Fox was diagnosed with early-onset Parkinson's disease at age 30 and has been a prominent advocate for research and awareness since going public about his condition in 1998 through the Michael J. Fox Foundation, which has raised more than $2 billion for Parkinson's research since its founding in 2000.
