Learn new skills at Flagstaff workshop in Smeaton Grange

A workshop held at Flagstaff MacArthur earlier this year.

Are you a young person with a disability looking for an inspiring pathway from school to work? If the answer is yes, Flagstaff's Winter School Holiday Workshop taking place in Macarthur next week could be just what you're looking for.

The workshop is open to students in Grade 12 or people with disabilities aged 15-18.

It gives you the opportunity to learn new things, meet new friends and try out different activities.

Some courses include hands-on artisan training to create your own woodworking items.

The menu of workshops also includes culinary skills, where you can master the art of baking the perfect scone.

There will also be a technology exploration where you can try your hand at 3D printing.

Or how about our Basic Barista Course, where you'll learn how to use a coffee machine and make a great cup of coffee or hot chocolate.

Flagstaff is a not-for-profit registered NDIS provider providing School to Work support to people with disability and has recently expanded its reach to the Macarthur region.

“All activities are designed to cater for a range of abilities to ensure everyone can fully participate,” a Flagstaff spokesperson said.

“Our experienced staff will provide support and adjustments as needed, so don’t miss out on this opportunity to empower yourself and connect with others.

“They will build self-confidence, learn new skills and explore after-school possibilities in a supportive and inclusive environment,” the spokesperson said.

A free lunch will be provided for participants.

The free workshop will be held next Monday, July 8, from 9am to 2pm at the Flagstaff MacArthur building, 3/48 Dunn Road, Smeaton Grange.
