‘I Had Zero Money’: Sharon Stone Explains How She Lost $18 Million

Sharon Stone has revealed that she suffered a severe stroke in 2001 and lost a staggering $18 million while fighting for her life.

Stone said the stroke left her with a brain bleed and required intensive treatment, and that while she was focused on the long road to recovery, people around her took advantage of her by taking money from her. The Hollywood Reporter The film was released on Tuesday. The famous actress was given a 1% chance of survival and underwent surgery to have 23 platinum coils implanted in her brain, resulting in her losing hearing in one ear. It took her a full seven years to recover, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and the ordeal has depleted her fortune.

“During that time, people took advantage of me,” Stone said in an interview. “I had accumulated $18 million from my success, and when I got back to my bank account, it was all gone.”

“My refrigerator, my cell phone, everything was registered to someone else's name,” Stone told The Hollywood Reporter.

Stone did not reveal the names of those who allegedly stole his savings or how they did it, but he did acknowledge that he was completely penniless at the time.

“I had no money at all.”

The famous actress explained how she managed to bounce back from such huge financial losses during such a precarious time.

“I decided to live in the present and let go,” she said. “I decided not to cling to my illness or any bitterness or anger. If you keep gnawing at a seed of bitterness, it will never go away. But if you keep your faith, even if your faith is the size of a mustard seed, you will survive.”

“So now I live for joy. I live for purpose,” Stone told The Hollywood Reporter.

Stone described what it was like experiencing a brain bleed and all the medical procedures she needed afterwards, and she acknowledged that the experience changed how her brain works.

“A Buddhist monk told me I was reincarnated in the same body. I had experienced death and then been resurrected,” she said. “I had been bleeding in my brain for nine days, so my brain was pushed out in front of my face. It's no longer in the position it was in before in my head.”

“Things were being stretched and I could see patterns of colours. A lot of people thought I was going to die,” the famous actress said.
