An autopsy revealed that the soldier suffered 68 stab wounds before his death in May 2024, according to ABC News.
The death of Corporal Katia Dueñas Aguilar, a 23-year-old soldier from Fort Campbell, shocked the community after an autopsy report revealed she had suffered nearly 70 stab wounds. ABC NewsAguilar was found dead in his Tennessee home in May of this year.

The medical examiner determined the cause of death was sharp force trauma to the neck, including at least 55 stab wounds and 13 cut wounds, and ruled it a homicide, The Leaf-Chronicle reported. reportAguilar's toxicology report showed that he had a blood alcohol level of 0.161 on the day of his death and traces of gamma hydroxybutyrate (GHB), a drug often used as a date rape drug, although the report noted that a GHB concentration of 30 mcg/mL is below the threshold typically associated with inducing light sleep.

No arrests have been made in Aguilar's murder, despite an ongoing investigation by Clarksville police and Army criminal investigators. According to ABC News, Aguilar enlisted in the Army in 2018 and was assigned to the 101st Combat Aviation Brigade, 101st Airborne Division at Fort Campbell. To seek justice for Aguilar, who leaves behind a 4-year-old son, her family and the United Latinos Association have offered a $55,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction. According to ABC News, the family expressed their grief and plea for justice at a press conference in May.
