Sedona News – The Sedona International Film Festival is proud to announce the Northern Arizona premiere of “The Nature of Love,” screening July 19-24 at the Mary D. Fisher Theatre and the Alice Gill Sheldon Theatre.
Sophia, a professor of philosophy, has been in a stable, traditional marriage to Xavier for ten years when she meets Sylvain, a craftsman renovating the couple's new country home, and the two begin a passionate affair.
Director Monia Chokri lays out the outline of a smart, sexy romantic comedy, infusing it with sharp energy and a fresh perspective that subverts genre (and gender) conventions.
“A funny, sharp and insightful romantic comedy that's a clever, sexy and slightly nasty portrayal of romantic passion in a real-world setting.” — Wendy Eide, Screen Daily
“Sexy and funny, Monia Chokri's delightful new film is well-cast and Magarie Lépine-Blondeau is superb.” — Catherine Bray, Variety
“Very charming and warm… sexy when it needs to be, smart at times, silly at other times – a great mix.” — Jason Gorber, RogerEbert.com
“This clever film has stuck with me ever since I saw it. It's another interesting find at Cannes this year, and one that's sure to make its mark on the romantic comedy subgenre.” — Alex Billington, FirstShowing.net
