Things Have Changed: A Shunned Nick Saban Had To Retrieve His Media Credentials In Order To Get Into SEC Media Days

How on earth do you not know who Nick Saban is?

As you know, legendary college football coach Nick Saban 2023 Saban entered this season with seven national championships, six of which came with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Now, he's enjoying the benefits of retirement and a much more stable paycheck from ESPN.

One of Saban's current duties for the four-letter network is covering SEC media days in Dallas, and since it's his old (or maybe championship?) conference, you'd think he wouldn't have any problems being there. Speaking to ESPN on Monday morning, Saban said he tried to attend SEC Media Day but was turned away because he didn't have media credentials.

“I've never worn credentials in my life and for 17 years I've been able to go into SEC media days without credentials. Today I had to go back in the room and get my credentials to get in,” Saban told Mike Greenberg with a laugh.
