Jeff Goldblum’s ‘KAOS’ Trailer Feels Less Like Fiction The More You Watch It

The official extended teaser for Netflix's new series “KAOS” was released on Thursday, and it's starting to look less and less like fiction.

The series stars Jeff Goldblum as the Greek god Zeus, and tells the story of “when discord spreads on Mount Olympus, the all-powerful Zeus falls into delusion, and three men are destined to reshape the future of mankind.” according to According to Netflix's official description: trailer In this series, the characters seem to be dealing with a lot more than just “disagreement.”

“Men will not worship me unless they fear me,” Zeus snarls at the beginning, before telling the audience that his favorite fear is “fire,” a scene that accompanies a supercut of devastating wildfires that's a bit creepy considering how many people actually die from these natural disasters.

The rest of the trailer is a satirical, mythical portrayal of modern life, with psychopathic, power-obsessed cranks demanding punishment if they aren't ideologically committed to their message. Are any of the characters reminiscent of modern-day politicians?

anyway.

Clearly, the people of Earth are frustrated that their prayers are not being answered. It's as if the gods want all the power but never take responsibility for solving the problems they caused. Humanity decides to fight back. Zeus' response? “We're going to wipe these motherfuckers off the face of the Earth.” (Related article: “Bad Monkey” could be the role of a lifetime for Vince Vaughn)

The series will be released on August 29th, and we hope it lives up to expectations.
