The Flagstaff Unified School District Foundation is pleased to announce the launch of the FUSD Teacher's Closet, a new initiative to provide essential supplies to hardworking teachers. The FUSD Teacher's Closet officially opens on August 5th and will provide FUSD educators with a wide range of classroom materials at no cost.
This project was made possible through the generous support of OneAZ Credit Union, whose commitment to education and community development was instrumental in making this effort possible. Our partnership with OneAZ Credit Union highlights the importance of supporting educators and ensuring they have the resources they need to be successful.
“We are excited to introduce the FUSD Teacher Closet,” said FUSD Foundation Board President Jennifer Grogan. “This project is a testament to our commitment to supporting educators and ensuring they have the resources they need to provide the best education for their students.”
To kick off the effort, the FUSD Foundation will host a supply drive at Staples, 2625 S. Woodlands Village Blvd., Flagstaff, Ariz., on August 3 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. There will also be food trucks, axe throwing, lawn games and more. Supplies needed include notebooks, pencils, markers, crayons, binders and other classroom essentials.
We encourage the community to come together and donate new or gently used school supplies to support our teachers.
The Teacher's Closet will be located at Summit High School and will be open to all FUSD teachers. Teachers can visit the closet and pick out supplies they need for their classrooms at no cost. The initiative is intended to ease the financial burden on teachers, who often spend their own money on classroom supplies.
“We know teachers are always going out of their way to help their students, and we want to make sure they have the equipment they need without having to worry about the cost,” Grogan said. “The support of the local community through supply drives will have a huge impact on both our teachers and students.”
Donations can be dropped off at Staples on the day of the drive. Monetary donations are also welcome. For more information about the FUSD Foundation, FUSD Foundation Website Or email us at fusdfoundation@gmail.com.
