Minnesota business owner Greg Urban went on Fox News on Wednesday to criticize Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Walz for his alleged tyrannical behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic as Minnesota governor.
Walz implemented strict lockdown measures during the COVID-19 pandemic. hotline Minnesotans should report people who violate stay-at-home policies and force residents not to gather together. ThanksgivingUrban, in an interview with “America Report,” called Walz an “evil” tyrant because of his policies during the coronavirus pandemic and argued that his running mate is more to the left of California Gov. “Waltz was a total dictator throughout that period. More than a dictator, he was just evil. He actually made it illegal for families to get together for Christmas and Thanksgiving,” Urban said. “Illegal. So if people saw their neighbor bringing in turkey legs on Thanksgiving, they could call a tip line and Waltz could send the Corona police and take them to jail.”
“I heard Walz make a comment yesterday about Gavin Newsom having short hair and wearing flannel, and I actually think Walz is more radical left than Gavin Newsom,” he added. “I don't think it gets much attention in a state of 5 million people, but Tim Walz is an absolute dictator and he never had any idea that he didn't care about anyone else.”
Urban closed his Minneapolis location of Wild Gregg's Saloon in August 2022 due to crime and COVID-19 restrictions, Fox News reported. report.
“There was no roadmap forward. Minneapolis is a failed city and it's not really getting better. Other cities have bounced back from COVID very quickly and we've been in the red every month,” Urban said during the appearance. “And as a business owner, you can be in the red for months in a row and then you have to close your business. And then when that happens, no one comes to downtown Minneapolis or anywhere in Minneapolis. They were scared of crime. A lot of people were getting robbed, their cars were stolen, their cars were broken into. There was no police.”
“If you call the police, unless it's a homicide, they might not show up or it might take an hour or two. So it's been a very troubling time. Tim Walz has refused to provide state resources, state police, anything that other cities like Austin, Texas, have received some assistance from the state,” Urban added. “Here in Minnesota, Tim Walz has not shown leadership to help Minneapolis.”
Following the death of George Floyd in 2020, rioters descended on Minneapolis, burning numerous buildings, looting stores and causing three days of unrest. Governor Walz had previously argued that calling in the National Guard would only incite further violence, but he failed to immediately send the National Guard to Minneapolis to deal with the riots.
