Two Men Shot Dead At Concert Venue Ahead Of Major Concert

On Aug. 10, two men were shot and killed at I-29 Speedway in Mills County ahead of the Pull Up Car Show.

Boosie Badazz was scheduled to headline a concert alongside Rob 49 at an event that also included muscle cars, drag racing and live performances from a variety of artists, but the event was abruptly canceled after gunfire rang out. Mills County Sheriff's Office According to a police statement released on August 11, police responded to a report of gunfire in the parking lot of the outdoor concert venue at approximately 8:59 pm. Two men, Marcus L. Johnson, 28, and Charles A. Williams Jr., 27, both from Omaha, Nebraska, were pronounced dead from the shooting.

The Mills County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the Iowa Bureau of Criminal Investigation, Iowa State Police, Omaha Police and several surrounding law enforcement agencies.

Local news media KMA Land Authorities were searching for at least three suspects in a black Mercedes sedan and had requested an Omaha police helicopter to conduct an aerial search of the area, the report said. The Mills County Sheriff's Office did not confirm those details in a brief statement.

Law enforcement officials are urging anyone with information about the shooting to contact the Mills County Sheriff's Office at 712.527.4871.

Boosie Badazz posted a video to his Instagram page after hearing about the shooting, but did not seem to acknowledge the severity of the incident or the reason for the concert being canceled.

“The concert has been cancelled. I don't know if something went wrong up front but I'm going to bring it to Crush Ultra Lounge,” he told fans.

At this time, the double shooting remains under investigation.
