‘SNL’ Star Bowen Yang Says Male Host Made ‘Multiple Cast Members’ Cry

“Saturday Night Live” star Bowen Yang said Monday that the late-night comedy show's male host has made multiple performers cry.

Mr Bowen made the shocking accusation. Appearance “This guy, this person, this host, made several of our cast members cry before the read-through on Wednesday because they didn't like the idea,” Bowen claimed during a segment on Andy Cohen's “Watch What Happens Live” with his podcast co-host Matt Rogers.

Apparently the situation was “terrible,” but that was the only concession Bowen made on the matter. You can see Bowen and Rogers visibly cringing as they recall the situation and how much of a problem it would be if they exposed whoever this terrible host was. “He's got a new publicist and everything,” Rogers claimed of the unnamed host.

Bowen has appeared on the past five seasons of “SNL” since 2018. Male hosts have ranged from Jason Bateman, Woody Harrelson, Harry Styles and Chance the Rapper to Pedro Pascal, Shane Gillis, Austin Butler and Jake Gyllenhaal. According to To BuzzFeed. It really feels like a never-ending list. (Related: The new “SNL” movie trailer is out, and it's not what we expected.)

And one of these guys could have made everyone cry, that's what they're being told.

Apparently, one of the worst sketches Bowen did on the show was with host Ayo Edebiri. “When Ayo Edebiri hosted last season, we did a live sketch that took place in an elevator, and the elevator stopped working and we were all like, should we kiss or something,” he explained. (Related: Shane Gillis is objectively funny on SNL, so clearly the corporate media is having a tantrum.)

Someone turned the sketch into a pre-recorded “right in front of their eyes” so the actors had no choice but to deal with it. What difficult lives they have.

(do not have).
