The Canadiens are on the move!
Just days after the Left Wing Patrick LyneRequest to no longer be a Columbus Blue Jackets player ListedHis wish came true on Monday when he was traded to the Montreal Canadiens. In exchange for Laine, the Blue Jackets received defenseman Jordan Harris. (Related article: Steve Kerr will not continue as U.S. national team coach. I have high hopes for Erik Spoelstra's replacement candidate: Report)
Columbus also received a 2026 second-round draft pick in the trade and will not have to pay any of the salary Laine is owed under his current contract. The 26-year-old has two seasons remaining on his contract, which owes him $8.7 million.
Laine's future in Ohio has been unclear for some time, and expectations surrounding his status were raised recently when Blue Jackets president of hockey operations and general manager Don Waddell appeared on TSN 1050 (Toronto) and said Laine had made it clear he no longer wanted to be in Columbus.
The Canadiens traded defenceman Jordan Harris to the Columbus Blue Jackets for forward Patrik Laine and a 2026 second-round pick.

It was only a matter of time before this happened, so while it's not the most shocking thing in the world, I applaud the Canadiens for pulling off a strong move.
By the way, the reason I'm talking about hockey is because what do you think about my team, the Florida Panthers (the defending Stanley Cup champions), getting all the attention on WWE's Monday Night Raw?
Ladies and gentlemen..
We are in the home stadium of the Stanley Cup Champion Florida Panthers.
