Former Cy Young Award winning pitcher Trevor Bauer Bauer has been vocal about his desire to return to the big leagues since being booted out of the league in 2021. Multiple teams have apparently expressed interest in signing him, but according to Bauer himself, it's MLB that's blocking any potential move between him and the franchise.
Bauer was suspended for violating MLB's domestic violence policy. 194-game suspensionThe pitcher has already served his sentence. On top of that, Bauer has never actually been charged with a crime. Sure, there have been rumors and rumours, but as far as we know, no crimes have actually been committed. However, prior to Bauer's comments, it seemed like The Show franchise had no intention of giving him another chance.
The 33-year-old Bauer, who has had success as a pitcher in Japan in recent years, is currently playing for Diablos Rojos de Mexico in Mexico City and is looking for an MLB organization to sign with.
Bauer spoke out about his situation on social media on Monday and made a few assertions about MLB and some of its teams. (RELATED: Kevin James has an incredible Grade A performance against the New York Mets)
“One team said it wasn't their decision, it was MLB's. One team said I was 'too expensive' even though I offered to play for minimum. Another team said I had covered up something in the past that I didn't want the media to find out,” Bauer posted.
Bauer provided some more details in response to questions from fans.
“That's a great question regarding MLB…it shouldn't be their decision but apparently in certain cases it is…and the coaching staff and players all agree with that…they are told that…” Bauer wrote.
“I'm definitely not convinced that my pitching won't be successful in the league. Every team we've talked to has said I'd be No. 1 or No. 2 in their rotation.”
Well, one team said it was not their decision, but MLB's. One team said I was “too expensive” even though I offered to play for the minimum. Another team said I covered up some things in the past that I didn't want the media to look into…
