‘They’ve Lost Their Soul’: Former Running Mate Nicole Shanahan Blasts Democratic Party Over Treatment Of RFK Jr.

Nicole Shanahan, former Vice President Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s running mate, slammed the Democratic Party's treatment of Kennedy in an interview on Fox News on Tuesday.

During the period exterior Mr Shanahan, speaking on “Jesse Watters Primetime,” claimed the party had lost its sense of morality and abandoned its core principles of dignity and respect. His accusations came amid growing tensions within the party, particularly over how to treat Mr Kennedy.

“This is incredible. I'm asking myself what happened to the party of, they go low and we go high, because now they're just going lower and lower and lower. I'm shocked. I'm saddened. I'm worried about them, honestly. They've lost their soul. They've lost their direction. And if we're going to pick our targets, we've got to pick them a little better,” she told host Jesse Watters.

She also noted Kennedy's resilience in the face of adversity, particularly from Big Pharma. (Related: RFK Jr. attends Trump rally after suspending campaign activities)

“Robert F. Kennedy is one of the kindest human beings I have had the honor of knowing. He told me the other day, 'I have no vendetta in my body. This is a man who has been attacked from every angle for years. Big Pharma has pursued him harder than anyone else. And Bobby always emerges with grace,'” she continued.

Kennedy herself has spoken out about the personal toll these attacks have had on her, but has maintained she will not retaliate. “When I got into this campaign, he said, 'You're going to be attacked in ways you never expect, but remember, every attack is a sign from God. Treat it with kindness,” she said.

Kennedy Jr. had previously criticized Democratic Party leaders after he was removed from the New York state ballot for the upcoming election. Even before his suspension, Democrats had been actively working to disqualify him from voting in several states.

“Democrats claim they're trying to defend democracy from Donald Trump, but they've canceled primaries and abolished intraparty democracy,” he previously told Sean Hannity.

Recently, Michigan Wisconsin Both states rejected requests by former independent 2024 presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to remove his name from the ballots in both states, even though his campaign has been suspended.

Sheri Hardmon, a senior spokeswoman for Michigan Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson, said Tuesday that Kennedy, who appears on the state's ballot as the Natural Law Party's presidential candidate, cannot withdraw from the race.

Hardmon said Kennedy's status as a minority party candidate and the fact that his party cannot select new electors are reasons he should remain on the ballot.

Candidates from minor parties cannot withdraw His name will remain on the ballot in the November election. Michigan election law requires that presidential electors be chosen at a state convention in the fall. “Fall state conventions must be held by the day of the primary election. The Natural Law Party held a convention to select electors for Robert Kennedy Jr. Because the primary election is over, we cannot meet at this point to select new electors,” Hardmon told The Daily Caller.
