“Parenthood” star Mae Whitman has welcomed her first child into the world.
The 36-year-old star posted an adorable photo to social media on Aug. 28, introducing her newborn to her 1.2 million fans and followers.
“Not to be a Bieber fan, but I just gave birth to my son Miles too. We were smitten from the moment we heard the first little sounds come out of his little piggy mouth,” she wrote. “He is the sweetest, gentlest, smartest, funniest little baby and our best friend (almost the same as his namesake Uncle Miles @younggoth),” Whitman shared on Instagram.
Whitman revealed that he chose the name Miles in honor of his close friend and fellow actor Miles Heizer, who played Whitman's brother Drew Holt in the film “Parenthood.”
A photo posted to her Instagram page shows her son's tiny foot clutching an adult's finger, highlighting just how tiny his baby feet are in comparison.

Thank you to everyone at @kaiserbente and @carynfields, @moxiebirth and @huntingtonhospital who guided our little family through unexpected twists and turns with safety, love and kindness, and to all of those around us who have shown us such generosity and support,” Whitman said.
The famous actress could barely contain her joy when she became a mother for the first time.
