Tim Walz Is Not Real

We've been confronted with a lot of unpleasant politicians in recent years, but there's something about Minnesota Governor Tim Walz that particularly irritates me.

He's not a real person, he's a reverse version of a modern minstrel show.

Waltz does his best to seem like a regular, quirky white dad: well-meaning but always confused, in need of a stern, capable woman to set him straight. Every time he's onstage, he's like a Steve Martin impersonator from “Dad of 12,” complete with slapstick moves. He talks about doing wholesome things with his kids, behaving like a nerd, and making fun of his dislike of spicy food.

If the goal is to make him seem relatable and down-to-earth, it doesn't work. It feels forced and fake. In reality, Waltz is a gun-grabbing, child-murdering, wide-eyed communist who takes the knee to BLM. Despite his down-to-earth attitude, he doesn't share working-class values. He merely wears their aesthetics like a drag costume to mock the working-class people he claims to be. And that Seems like a real goal.

The old minstrel shows were slapstick caricatures of black stereotypes to entertain white audiences and reinforce their feelings of superiority. Waltz's act does the same for today's white liberals. He uses his flippant methods to mock today's pop culture white stereotypes in order to ingratiate himself with self-hating white liberals. And they… do not Take pride in self-flagellation.

Democratic voters aren't laughing with him, they're laughing at him, and that's the problem.
