FSU is just the third program since 1989 to start in the preseason top 10 but finish unranked in the first official regular season poll, when the poll was expanded to a top 25. (Related: Florida State becomes just the third FBS team in 45 years to start a season 0-2 while being considered a championship favorite.)
Georgia remained atop the AP Top 25, receiving 57 first-place votes following a dominant season-opening win over then-14th-ranked Clemson. Clemson maintained its ranking at #25, but its season-opening loss marked the second consecutive year that the school has dropped at least 10 spots in the poll.
Rounding out the top five were Ohio State University at No. 2, University of Texas at No. 3, University of Alabama at No. 4 and University of Notre Dame at No. 5.

As a Miami Hurricanes fan, I have no problem with us being stuck in 12th place, and as a college football fan, I have no problem with the overall poll results.
It's good to see Georgia Tech now ranked. Good move from the Associated Press. Kudos to Atlanta.
